The Oregon State University Chamber Music Workshop, sponsored by the OSU School of Arts and Communication SAC Academy, will offer five free public performances in July in Corvallis.

A benefit concert for the OSU Chamber Music Workshop will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21 in the auditorium at the Ashbrook Independent School, 4045 SW Research Way, Corvallis.

The performance features workshop piano faculty members Jean David Coen and Thomas Otten; Maria Larionoff, former concertmaster of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra; George Thomson, director of the Corvallis Youth Symphony; members of the Portland-based FearNoMusic Quartet; and camp directors Jessica Lambert and Rachelle McCabe. The program includes works by Leonard Bernstein, Johannes Brahms, Moritz Moszkowski and Sergei Rachmaninoff.

The performance is free, but donations benefiting the workshop will be accepted at the door.

At noon on Thursday, July 13 and Thursday, July 20 student chamber ensembles will present informal outdoor performances at Central Park, 650 NW Monroe Ave., Corvallis. Student ensembles will also perform two formal concerts at noon Saturday, July 15 and Saturday, July 22 at Ashbrook Independent School. These performances are also free.

Now in its sixth year of operation, the workshop draws professional faculty and students from across the Pacific Northwest for two weeks of intensive instruction, rehearsal and performance.
