GRANTS PASS — The Monroe High girls basketball team routed Oakland Saturday afternoon in the Mountain View Conference championship game to finish the regular season 25-0.

The Dragons won the game, 56-32.

Kyndal Martin had a team-high 21 points for Monroe, which will host a 2A state round of 16 playoff game next Saturday.

“I think we really set ourselves up for a good chance to make a deep run this year,” Monroe coach Tony Parker said.

Rose Gwillim added 18 points for the Dragons.

Gervais 26, Scio 24

SALEM — A strong defensive effort wasn’t enough as Scio fell to Gervais in a PacWest Conference playoff game at Sprague High.

The loss ends the Loggers’ (8-13) season.

Dayton 43, Santiam Christian 18

INDEPENDENCE — Dayton cruised by Santiam Christian in the championship game of the West Valley League plays at Central High.

The Eagles (16-7) will be on the road in next week’s 3A state round of 16.

Lowell 49, Alsea 30

EUGENE — Alsea’s four-game winning streak came to an end against Lowell in the Mountain West League playoffs at Northwest Christian University.

The Wolverines finish the regular season 11-10 overall.

Boys

SALEM — Jefferson’s season came to an end with a 70-52 loss to Colton in the PacWest playoffs at Sprague High.

The Lions finish the year 9-14 overall.
