Eating disorders addressed at OSU

This week at Oregon State University, the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance is sponsoring a variety of activities aimed at addressing eating disorders. Here is a schedule of events taking place on campus.

Today

6 p.m. — Tracy Ryan-Brochers from Oregon Health & Science University will speak on body image and dissatisfaction as well as eating disorders, in the OSU Women's Center.

Wednesday

5 to 7:30 p.m. — A video showing of "Real Women Have Curves" will take place in the Women's Center, followed by a discussion with Dr. Patti Watkins. She will speak about body image awareness and lead a discussion. This event is sponsored by Centro Cultural Cesar Chavez, Women's Center and FMLA.

Thursday

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — FMLA will host a table in the MU Quad with information, resources and brochures on any topic under the umbrella of eating disorders and body image. Free food has been donated by Starbucks and the First Alternative Coop.

Friday

8 p.m. — Folk singer Cosy Sheridan will perform at a free concert at Escape Nightclub, in the MU East.
