Harry Potter party set for library on Friday

The release of the new Harry Potter novel will be the subject for celebration Friday at the Corvallis-Benton Public Library, which is hosting a "Harry Potter VI Release Party" beginning at 9:15 p.m.

The free event will include the Chintimini Owls and Magician Jay Fraiser. Participants can enter the Harry and Hermione look-a-like contest, and get their photo taken with Professor Dumbledore (bring your camera).

Attendees also can enter a chance to win a 12:01 a.m. checkout of the new Harry Potter book.

Children 10 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

The library is at 645 N.W. Monroe Ave. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
