OSU opens Kelley Engineering Center

Oregon State University will celebrate the grand opening of its new Kelley Engineering Center on Saturday. Tours and department gatherings begin at 8:30 a.m., and the ceremony begins at 10 a.m.

The Kelley Engineering Center is a $45 million, 153,000-square-foot building that will house the departments of electrical engineering and computer science.

The building was designed to encourage collaboration and innovation among faculty, students and visiting business partners. Leaders in the College of Engineering believe that cooperative research is key to advancing OSU’s goal of becoming one of the top 25 engineering colleges in the nation.

Jen-Hsun Huang, OSU engineering alumnus and co-founder, president and CEO of graphic processing technology company NVIDIA, will give the keynote address.

The event also will be broadcast live via the Internet at http://oregonstate.edu/media/live.
