Oregon Renaissance Band celebrates ‘Early Celtic Winter’

Corvallis — The Oregon Renaissance Band, directed by Philip and Gayle Neuman, will perform “An Early Celtic Winter Celebration” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the First United Methodist Church, 1165 N.W. Monroe Ave. The program will include early music from Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Songs, dances and psalm settings by Robert Johnson, Andro Blackhall, David Peebles, John Playford and many others will also be on the menu.

Musicians participating in the concert will include: David Bryan, Sharon Cheney, Daphne Clifton, Lori Fitch, Kari Ferguson, Andrew Harris, Kathy Langley, Gayle Neuman, Philip Neuman, Kathryn Richer and Laura Zaerr. They will play recorders, sackbuts, violin, viola da gamba, harp, corna musen, bagpipes, crumhorn and rackett. In addition, there will also be a number of vocal selections.

Admission runs from $8 to $10, and tickets are available at the door. For more information, call 757-8313.
