OSU Foundation adds development officer

The Oregon State University Foundation has named Tom McLennan as the new director of development for the university’s College of Education and 4-H program.

McLennan, who has been the assistant scout executive for the Oregon Trail Council of the Boy Scouts of America, began his new position earlier this month.

McLennan has worked for seven years as a fund-raiser and manager with the Boy Scouts. He has also worked in sales for Rogue Wave Software and as a volunteer teacher with the Peace Corps in the Kingdom of Tonga. McLennan earned his degree from OSU in speech communication in 1996.

The OSU Foundation is the nonprofit organization chartered to raise and administer private funds for OSU. Recent major fund-raising projects include the construction of the Kelley Engineering Center and the expansion of Reser Stadium. At the same time, the foundation has raised significant funding for scholarships, research and teaching. The OSU Foundation has assets of $466.4 million, and OSU has an endowment of $349.3 million.
