Correction: Election headline

This just in ... Saxton wins.

Ever have one of those days when you want to hide under a rock? The staff of the Gazette-Times had one of those Wednesday, following publication of an incorrect headline on the lead story about the outcome of Tuesday’s gubernatorial primary.

As anyone who read the story quickly became aware, Republican candidate Ron Saxton defeated Kevin Mannix and Jason Atkinson to win the GOP primary, and will face incumbent Gov. Ted Kulongoski, a Democrat, in the general election.

The newspaper regrets the error.
