Oregon State University baseball fans line the edge of Monroe Avenue, cheering as cars pass by and trying to get drivers and passengers in the car to give them five on Monday after the Beaver baseball team won the College World Series. Fans lined both sides of Monroe by Northwest 16th Street and slowed down traffic but caused no major incidents.
No riots after win

Hooray, Oregon State University baseball team.

And hooray, Corvallis, too, apparently.

The Corvallis Police Department said there were no major incidents or arrests while locals were celebrating the Beavers’ College World Series win on Monday night.

“For the most part, everyone was well-behaved,” said Sgt. Cord Wood.

He added that most OSU students had already left town for the summer.

After the game, rowdy Beaver believers lined Monroe Avenue, cheering and trying to high-five passing motorists driving up the busy street adjacent to campus, and there was at least one scuffle between supporters and detractors of the baseball team.

According to police, however, none of that activity escalated into serious problems.
