Former NBA assistant coaches Bob Kloppenburg and Tex Winter are the lead speakers at the day-long Oregon State Basketball Coaches Clinic on Oct. 21.
Kloppenburg has nearly five decades of experience from high school to the NBA, most notably 12 years with the Seattle Supersonics as their defensive coordinator.
He helped develop the pressure defense used throughout the game today, and he has given clinics all over the world teaching his system.
Winter developed the triangle offense, which won nine NBA championships in 12 years during his time as an assistant coach with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers.
He coached for 57 years at the college and professional levels, including stints as head coach with the Houston Rockets, Marquette, Kansas State, Washington, Northwestern and Long Beach State.
Both will speak for an extended time in several sessions on their areas of expertise. The cost to attend the clinic is $100 for the first coach and $75 for additional coaches from the same team with a maximum of three.
