Corvallis Gazette-Times

The Oregon State rugby team hosts the second annual Beaver Invitational Rugby Fest at Peavy Field this weekend.

The Beavers will play top-ranked University of Utah Rugby Club at 2 p.m. Friday. Utah finished second in the country in 2004 and third in the nation in 2005.

Central Washington plays the University of Victoria and the OSU “B” team plays the Utah “B” at 4 p.m.

On Saturday, Central Washington plays Utah at 9:30 a.m. and the Beavers play Victoria at 10:30.

At noon, the OSU “b” team plays the Central Washington “B” team and Victoria plays Utah at 1:30 p.m.

Utah has one player on the USA National team, and three other All-Americans. Victoria is traditionally one of Canada’s top two university teams and has one player on the National team.

Admission is free. Peavy Field is located at Northwest 30th Street and Jefferson Way.
