The 19th-ranked Oregon State wrestling team parlayed a pin, two major decisions and three shutouts into a 32-6 rout of Boise State on Sunday in a Pacific-10 Conference match before 1,135 fans at Gill Coliseum.

The Beavers (13-1, 5-0) stretched their home winning streak to 11 consecutive duals over the past two seasons and concluded a very productive weekend. They hammered Arizona State 31-10 on Friday night; BSU (8-3, 4-2) and ASU have combined to win 11 of the last 12 Pac-10 team championships, including the last 10.

“It was another big win,” OSU coach Jim Zalesky said. “Arizona State and Boise State have been the Pac-10 champions the last (10) years so it’s good for our team to have that mental edge going into the Pac-10 Championships,” at Cal State-Bakersfield on Feb. 25-26.

“Guys wrestled hard. Even though we won some lopsided matches there were a couple of matches where we still have to work on some things. We’ve got to continue to work because there are some harder matches down the road,” starting with upcoming duals at UC-Davis on Friday night and at Cal Poly on Feb. 4.

Ty Gardner (197), who defeated second-ranked (Pac-10) Jason Trulson of ASU on Friday, capped the weekend with OSU’s lone pin.

“(Gardner) took it to him,” Zalesky said. “He’s wrestling with a lot of confidence. He’s probably our most improved guy throughout the year.”

Heavyweight Ty Watterson, Bobby Pfennigs (133) and Eric Stevenson (125) all won without surrendering a point; Derek Kipperberg (149) and Jeremy Larson (174) allowed just one point in their victories.

Watterson, ranked 15th nationally, defeated No. 7 Jason Patrick 1-0. The only scoring was a second-period escape.
