PROVO, Utah — Oregon State ran its unbeaten streak to four meets after completing a come-from-behind victory over Brigham Young in Friday’s triangular meet at Smith Fieldhouse.

Freshman Mandi Rodriguez led the way for the Beavers, tallying a career-best 39.300 in the all-around to win the individual title.

Oregon State posted a 195.375 to take first. Brigham Young finished second (195.125) and Utah State was third (194.675).

The Beavers opened the meet on the balance beam for the first time this season and posted a 48.225 after uncharacteristic falls by Tasha Smith and Jami Lanz at the end of the lineup.

In the second rotation, Oregon State regained form performing a 49.000 led by Mandi Rodriguez’s 9.850 and a trio of 9.800s from Yuki Lamb, Smith and Lanz.

OSU then scored a 49.200 with six solid vaults in the third rotation. Smith nailed her vault for a 9.900 and Rodriguez and Lamb scored matching 9.850s.

Trailing the Cougars by .225 going into the final rotation, the Beavers mustered a solid bars set. After an awkward fall by Keegan Fitzgerald the remaining bars lineup again rebounded with excellent routines from Smith and Lanz that netted 9.825s and Rodriguez, who secured the event title, with a 9.875.
