CORVALLIS n The Oregon State volleyball held its annual Orange & Black Scrimmage Saturday afternoon introducing the 2007 squad to the public for the first time this season.
Orange beat the Black squad two games to none by scores of 30-25 and 30-24.
Transfer hitter Lauren Rinderknecht posted a scrimmage-high 12 kills for the Black team while senior hitter Kristin Murray led the Orange with 10 kills and a scrimmage leading 13 digs. Freshman hitter Jill Sawatzky enjoyed a solid performance with eight kills, seven digs and mixed in three blocks for the Orange team, while teammate, sophomore middle blocker Bree Knitter tallied a team-leading five blocks. Frosh middle, Kiersten Sambrailo added four blocks for the Black.
Oregon State, which has been picked to finish ninth in the Pacific-10 Conference, opens the season on the road at the ASICS Rainbow Wahine Invitational, Aug. 24-26.
