People on the Move
Lynne Cox has been promoted to associate dean for Student Development at Linn-Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon. Cox brings a breadth of teaching and training experience and skills to work with students in difficult situations and has a strong sense of service and of collaborative and creative problem solving. Cox was hired in January of 2005 as coordinator for LBCC’s Office of Disability Services. She resides in Lebanon, Oregon.

Kelly Volkmann, RN, MPH has joined The Partnership Coalition of Corvallis as the new Benton County Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator. She is replacing Jessica Kelly, who has moved to Bend.
Kelly recently completed her master’s degree in public health from Oregon State University, where she received an Oregon MPH Outstanding Student Leadership Award. She is bilingual and has a strong interest in Latino health issues.
Kelly will be the new General Manager for the Partnership and will provide supervision for the student intern as well as manage data and budget reporting.
The Partnership Coalition includes representation from public health, law enforcement, retailers, and OSU, and is committed to reducing the burden of excessive and underage alcohol use in Corvallis.

Nathan Woods has joined Prudential Real Estate Professionals at their Corvallis office. Nathan is originally from Albany and attended Chemeketa Community College studying business. He formerly worked for Chad Woods Construction and is an active volunteer with Citizen’s Emergency Response Team.

Curtis Wright has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Business Enterprise Center (BEC).
Mr. Wright is a retired Silicon Valley ad agency CEO, and former Mayor of Morgan Hill, Calif. He is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Corvallis, and serves on the “Prosperity That Fits” steering committee as well as the boards of four other Corvallis nonprofits.

The Schupp/ Plemmons/ Cook Wealth Management Group of Wachovia Securities, a team of investment professionals based in Corvallis have recently opened their own Wealth Management Practice.
James Schupp, Glenn Plemmons, and Suzanne Cook have over 55 years of combined experience in the securities industry. The practice focuses on working with individuals, families, pension plans, and non-profits.
Take a Bow
The Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland (HBA) bestowed its highest honor to Oregon builder Legend Homes at its fourth annual Excellence Awards on Feb. 9. Legend Homes was voted Builder of the Year for its contributions to the association and for the leadership role it played in the state’s first episode of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
