Will Obama make stop in Corvallis?

Candidate slated to speak in Portland, Eugene, Salem

Gazette-Times

Campaign officials for Sen. Barack Obama on Wednesday announced a third stop during the Democratic presidential candidate’s planned visit to the Willamette Valley this week.

Obama will hold a town hall meeting in Salem at 1 p.m. Friday in addition to rallies in Portland and Eugene the same day.

Democratic Party officials in Linn County had suggested Wednesday that an Albany stop was in the works, but that did not materialize.

Obama has a fourth Oregon stop scheduled Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Medford.

In Portland, Obama will speak to a capacity crowd starting at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Memorial Coliseum. The doors open at 7:30 a.m.

In Salem, the town hall meeting will be held at the Salem Armory at 1 p.m. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

Obama’s third Friday rally is at McArthur Court on the University of Oregon campus, starting at 9 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m.

The events are free and open to the public, but tickets are required for limited seats. A waiting list has been formed for tickets to the Portland speech. Tickets for Salem and Eugene events are available online at www.barackobama.com.

Free offline tickets are available at the Coffee House Cafe, 135 Liberty St. in Salem.
