Wednesday, March 19

Criminal mischief: 8:08 a.m., 1000 block of Southwest 11th Street, Corvallis. A man reported that someone shattered the passenger side window of his SUV that was parked on the street in front of his residence. The incident occurred sometime during the night. No property was stolen.

Criminal mischief: 9 a.m., 900 block Southwest Western Boulevard, Corvallis. A digital camera, purse, wallet and its contents were stolen from inside a car during the night. The caller reported that an unknown person had broken into the car by breaking the lock on a passenger door. The vehicle was parked on the street in front of her residence.

Stolen vehicle: 10:04 a.m., 1300 block Southwest E Avenue, Corvallis. A man reported that his silver 1999 Honda Civic had been stolen during the night. The vehicle had been parked outside his apartment and contained golf clubs and an acoustic guitar. Officers searched the local area for the vehicle but could not find it. They entered the vehicle as stolen in a law enforcement database and took a report.

Criminal mischief: 11:24 a.m., 2000 block Southwest Third Street, Corvallis. A caller reported that she heard a man’s voice outside her home around 6 a.m. When she woke, she found pry marks on the outside of her front door. It appeared that the unknown person was not able to gain entry into the home.

Thursday, March 20

Open container: 12:31 a.m., 1600 block Southwest Monroe Avenue, Corvallis. An officer on patrol observed a man staggering as he walked down a sidewalk holding a glass of liquid. As the officer’s patrol car passed the man, he attempted to hide the glass by holding it close to his chest. The officer got out of the car and approached the man, who dumped the liquid into the bushes. The officer smelled the glass and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. The officer asked the man what type of beer he had been drinking and the man replied that he didn’t know, but it was “damn good.” The 23-year-old man was issued a citation for having an open container of alcohol in public.

Stolen vehicle: 1:11 p.m., 2800 block Northwest Jackson Avenue, Corvallis. A man reported that his yellow 2002 Suzuki DR2400 motorcycle with a personalized license plate had been stolen from the driveway of his residence. Police entered the motorcycle as stolen in a law enforcement database.

Friday, March 21

Open container: 1:10 a.m., 3000 block Southwest Philomath Boulevard, Corvallis. A 24-year-old man was cited for having an open container of alcohol after an officer saw him walking down the side of the roadway with a bottle of beer.

Vehicle accident: 4:10 p.m., 2700 block Sulphur Springs Road. Benton County sheriff’s deputies and Corvallis paramedics responded to a motorcycle crash in the hills northwest of Corvallis near Lewisburg Avenue. A man lost control of his black racing-style motorcycle while rounding a corner on wet pavement. His motorcycle brushed the front end of an oncoming car before ending up in the ditch across the oncoming lane. The uninjured man stood up to walk after being checked out by paramedics.
