EDUCATION: Graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in Chicago in 1979; graduated from Princeton in 1983 with an AB in sociology; graduated from the University of Chicago graduate school of business with an MBA in finance in 1992.
FAMILY: Wife Kelly; son Avery, 15, a high school sophomore who turns 16 on Wednesday, and daughter Lesie (12), a sixth grader.
COACHING EXPERIENCE: Brown head coach, 2006-2008; Northwestern assistant coach, 2000-2006; University of Chicago High head coach, 1999-2000; Illinois Institute of Technology assistant coach, 1988-1990.
PLAYING EXPERIENCE: Princeton, 1980-83. Two-time Ivy League Player of the Year, two-time NCAA tournament participant, ranked fourth all-time in scoring heading into the 2008 season with 1,441 points. Drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the fourth round of the 1983 NBA draft; played two seasons with the Manchester (England) Giants of the European Basketball League and was an assistant to the general manager and public relations officer for the team.
WORKING EXPERIENCE: Vice-president for Continental Bank, 1990-92; vice-president for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, 1992-99; managing director for Loop Capital Markets, 1999-2000.
ETC.: Princeton captain as a senior, led Tigers to a 1983 NCAA victory over Oklahoma State with 16 rebounds in a game played at Gill Coliseum. Princeton then lost to Boston College. ... As assistant at Northwestern, helped the Wildcats win 57 games from 2002-05, a school record for a four-year period. Responsible for local, national and international recruiting efforts. Robinson also helped with Northwestern being ranked ninth nationally in scoring defense (58.8 ppg) in 2005-2006. ... Directed Brown to sweeps over Princeton in 2007 and 2008, only the second and third time that has happened in school history. Improved Brown from 11-18 his first year to 19-10 his second, the most wins in a season in the school’s 103-year basketball history. ... Player Mark McAndrew was selected to Ivy League All-Academic team in 2007 and 2008, to the Ivy League all-league team in 2007 and 2008 and was the 2008 Rhode Island co-Player of the Year. Player Damon Huffman was all-Ivy in 2008; player Chris Skrelja was second-team in 2008.
