Professors to discuss India, Pakistan

Anita Weiss, professor of international studies at the University of Oregon, and Sunil Khanna, associate professor of anthropology at Oregon State University, will speak on the topic “India and Pakistan: What Do We in the West Need to Know?”  Friday at 3 p.m. in the main meeting room of the

Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, 645 N.W. Monroe Ave.

Weiss has authored numerous books and articles on South Asia, including “Power and Civil Society in Pakistan.”

Khanna’s teaching responsibilities at OSU include people and cultures of South Asia and international health.

Together they will explore the rapidly changing relations between India and Pakistan and the implications for the United States.

This is part of a series on “U.S. Foreign Policy: the Middle East and Asia,” sponsored by the Willamette Valley Forum, a non-profit, non-partisan group dedicated to informed discussion of current policy issues, and the OSU Political Science Department.
