Samaritan Regional Cancer Center social worker Jan Spencer, MSW, CSWA, OSW-C, has successfully completed all the requirements necessary for certification in oncology social work.

Kim Elliot and Lindsay Carroll of West Hills Animal Hospital gained certification as veterinary technicians in January after successfully passing the Veterinary Technician National Exam. Both also were required to complete at least 6,000 hours of on-the-job training with a licensed Oregon veterinarian.
People on the move
Ann Morgan, Kate Raineri, David Friday and Claudia Weintraub recently joined RE/MAX Integrity at its Corvallis location. Morgan worked as an attorney before becoming licensed in real estate in 1993. Raineri is an accredited staging professional. Friday has been licensed for more than four years. Weintraub, a former teacher, is a veteran broker who holds ABR, CRS, GRI, SRES and associate broker designations.

Joy Huddleston recently joined RE/MAX Integrity as a broker and will work out of the Albany office on Santiam Highway. She is lifelong resident of the Albany area.

The Oregon State University Foundation has promoted three staff members in its special events office. Associate director Nancy Shanks has been named the department’s director. Assistant director Kelsey Anglin has been named associate director of special events. Administrative assistant Sarah Rogers has been named assistant director of special events.

The Oregon Emergency Management Association recently recognized Samaritan Health Services (SHS) with a service award for its efforts to enhance emergency management capabilities in Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties.
The association honored Samaritan for working with community partners by donating the time of SHS emergency management staff, leading disaster drills, providing emergency management meeting and training space, and working to procure and share resources that can be used to respond to emergencies in the community. Samaritan Health Services is comprised of five hospitals — Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, Samaritan Albany General Hospital, Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital, Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport and Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital in Lincoln City.

Debra Ringold of Corvallis, professor of marketing and dean of the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University, has been named as the first recipient of the JELD-WEN Endowed Chair in Free Enterprise effective May 1. The new chair, funded by the JELD-WEN Foundation of Klamath Falls, was established in 2007 to advance scholarship and research opportunities for Willamette students, additional academic institutions and community groups committed to the study of free enterprise. The $2.5 million gift from JELD-WEN is the largest gift in history of the Atkinson Graduate School of Management.

Redeem O’Reilly, reproductive health nurse practitioner at Benton Community Health Center received the Vivian O. Lee Clinician of the Year Award for meritorious service in Region X Title X Family Planning 2008. The purpose of the award is to recognize family planning clinicians who have made an outstanding contribution in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. Selection of the award is based on length of service in reproductive health and their community, and excellence in clinical skills.
