Carl Eugene Fox

April 10, 1913 n May 17, 2008

Carl Eugene Fox died peacefully at his home May 17 with his family at his side. He was born in Van Wert County, Ohio, in 1913 to Peter Raymond Fox and Ila Davidson Fox. He graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1936 with a degree in electrical engineering, and worked for Ohio Power, then Wheeling Electric Power, for 38 years. Carl married Donna Wierman in June of 1938. They were married for 69 years. Donna preceded him in death in September of 2007.

Carl and Donna came to Corvallis in 1980 to visit their newest grandchild and chose to stay. Carl was active in the United Way, the Masonic Lodge, the Boy Scouts, the Benton County Historical Society and the Greenbelt Land Trust until his death.

Survivors include his sister Helen of Anchorage, Alaska; brother Joe of Sarasota, Fla.; daughter Ann Fox Gossett of Steubenville, Ohio; sons Peter Fox of Wheeling, W.Va., Jon Michael Fox of Buffalo, N.Y., and Edwin Fox of Corvallis; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

At his request, no memorial service will be held. Memorial contributions can be made to the United Way of Benton County, Benton County Historical Society, Greenbelt Land Trust, or the Boy Scouts of America.
