Dolya trio pipes Ukrainian sounds into Corvallis

Corvallis — A free concert of Renaissance music is being offered at 8 p.m. Monday, July 7, in the Main Meeting Room of the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, 645 N.W. Monroe Ave.

The Dolya Consort is an early music ensemble from the city of Uzhgorod, Ukraine. They have performed in Switzerland, Russia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and in their Ukrainian homeland, taking honors at music festivals in Kiev, Lvov, Moscow and Budapest.

The ensemble consists of Vladimir Dolya on bass recorder, his wife Ivetta Dolya on tenor recorder and percussion, and Vladimir Dolya Jr. on soprano, alto, and sopranino. Vladimir Jr. has been a soloist with the Uzhgorod Philharmonic.

In Corvallis, the Consort played at a reception at the opening concert of the eighth annual Chintimini Chamber Music Festival and at FireWorks restaurant.
