Officers and directors

The 2008-2009 board roster for the United Way of Benton and Lincoln Counties was approved at the June 26 general meeting.

Officers are: Biff Traber, president and community impact chair; Kavinda Arthenayake, past president; Natalie Ravlin, treasurer; David Cudo, campaign chair; Shelley Vitus, board development chair.

General members are: Scott Elmshaeuser, Joyce Fred, Scott Jackson, Gerry Kosanovic, Steve Rogers, Terryl Ross, Mysty Rusk, Kristen Scoggins, Sara Wayt and Jim White.

Annabelle Jaramillo has retired from the board after serving since 2002.

People on the move

Chris Wolfe has joined the Corvallis-Benton Chamber Coalition as membership director. Wolfe has a background in broadcasting and previously worked as the membership director at Corvallis Country Club.

Ryan Kelly has joined the Corvallis-Benton Chamber Coalition as the director of first impressions. Kelly recently graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in accounting.

Andrea Norris has joined the Oregon Natural Step Network, Corvallis Chapter, as coordinator. Norris has been the coordinator for the Oregon State University Student Sustainability Initiative as well as director of the Environmental Affairs Task Force. Maureen Beezhold will continue as assistant coordinator. Former coordinator Bruce Hecht will continue sustainable economic development work. The Oregon Natural Step Network works with businesses, organizations, government, faith communities and other organizations to help guide them in becoming more sustainable.

Comings and goings

Randy Witherspoon, a local mortgage broker, recently formed Expert Mortgage Group with Mariette Donahue, a local mortgage broker with 20 years of experience, and David West, a mortgage broker and purchase specialist.

Edward Jones financial adviser John Griesmeyer recently received the Managing Partner’s Award for outstanding sales and service over the past year. He also received the Service Award for his 10 years as an Edward Jones financial adviser.

News & notes

Corvallis Knights recently hired The Brooks Group to manage the team’s advertising for the 2008 season. Owner Brian Brooks will develop the club’s media schedule, buy media, and facilitate media relationships.
