People on the Move

Eric Moen, PA-C, recently joined Samaritan Mid-Valley Orthopedics in North Albany to assist with clinical and surgical cases. Moen graduated from Oregon Health & Science University in physician assistant studies in 1997. He earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science and athletic training from Oregon State University in 1991.

Wendy Phelps of Philomath has been named the first Chief Financial Officer for Coastal Farm and Ranch. Phelps has been Coastal Farm’s controller since she joined the company in 2004. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Oregon State University and is an Oregon-licensed CPA.

SMART (Start Making a Reader Today), Oregon’s largest statewide nonprofit dedicated to early literacy, recently hired Lee Tinker as development coordinator starting July 15. Tinker will create and supervise a community development program that includes building a network of volunteer “chapters” to help secure sustainable funding and volunteers in communities throughout the designated SMART area.

Leadership Corvallis elected new officers for the 2008-09 year at its June annual meeting. The officers are: Scott Elmshaeuser, president; Stacy Mellem, president-elect and curriculum chair; Deb Rose, secretary; Kristen Gose, treasurer; Kami Hammerschmith, past president; Rick DeBellis, vision chair; Jennifer Gardner, public relations chair; Tina Green-Price, recruitment chair; Christi Kasten, alumni chair; Patrice O’Brien, host; Todd Washington, projects chair; Nick Filker, graduation chair; Biff Traber, at-large; and Jerry Wille, at-large.

Caroline Wilkins of Corvallis has been re-appointed by Gov. Ted Kulongoski to the Oregon Commission on Judicial Fitness and Disability. The commission investigates complaints of judicial misconduct and alleged disability of Oregon judges. The commission is composed of nine members who serve four-year terms. Wilkins completed a term as its chair in December 2007.
