Poll: Duvall tops list of actors to play McCain

Who would you cast to portray John McCain in a movie?

Of the 298 respondents to that question on gazettetimes.com, 68 percent (23 percent) picked Robert Duvall.

Runner-up was James Caan with 55 votes (18 percent).

Steve Martin placed third with 51 votes (17 percent).

Here are the results for the seven other actors listed in the poll:

* Chuck Norris, 40 votes (13 percent).

* Paul Newman, 31 votes (10 percent).

* Michael Douglas, 21 votes (7 percent).

* Bruce Dern, 20 votes (7 percent).

* Tom Cruise, 6 votes (3 percent).

* Sam Elliott, 5 votes (2 percent).

* Michael Hogan, 1 votes (less than 1 percent).

The poll appeared on the Web site July 7 through 10 a.m. this morning.
