Soccer tourney set

The Linn-Benton Hispanic Advisory Committee and the Benton County Health Services will host the third annual Benton County Soccer Tournament and Family Weekend today and Sunday at Willamette Park.

The community event is a large scale outreach effort to promote healthy living and increase awareness about important local health services available to the local community.

Twelve teams from Corvallis, Albany, Eugene, Salem and Hillsboro will take part in the largest adult soccer tournament in Corvallis.

Games will be played from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• The U14 boys and girls qualifying tournament is taking place today and Sunday at Crystal Lake.

Action began Friday and goes from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

CHS summer camps

Corvallis High will be holding a number of camps throughout the August.

Volleyball: Aug. 11-14 from 9 a.m. to noon for incoming ninth- through 12th-graders. Cost is $50 ($55 at the door).

Boys soccer: Aug. 11-14 from 6-8 p.m. for incoming ninth- through 12th-graders. Cost is $50.

Girls soccer: Aug. 11-14 from 5-8 p.m. at Crystal Lake for all high school players Cost is $50.

CV summer camps

Crescent Valley High will be holding a number of camps throughout August.

Football: Aug. 11-13 for incoming third- through eighth-graders from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $75; $80 the first day of camp and includes lunch.

Boys soccer: Aug. 11-14 for incoming ninth- through 12-th graders from 5-7 p.mn. Cost is $50; $55 the first day of camp.

Girls soccer: Aug. 11-15 for incoming ninth- through 12th graders from 9-11:30 a.m. Cost is $50; $55 the first day of camp.

Volleyball: Aug. 12-15 for incoming sixth- through eighth-graders from 10 a.m. to noon; incoming ninth-graders from 12:30-2:30 p.m. and incoming 10th- through 12-th graders from 3-6 p.m. Cost is $50; $55 the first day of camp.

SC boys soccer camp

Santiam Christian will hold a boys soccer camp Aug. 11-15 from 6-8.30 p.m. at the high school. All participants receive a T-shirt and are supplied with Gatorade for the week. Emphasis is fitness and technical skills.

CHS physicals

Corvallis High will be offering physicals for all incoming freshman, juniors and newcomers to the school on Wednesday from 2-5 p.m. in the CHS training room.

Cost is $30 and all proceeds go to the CHS training room.

Flag football league

Maximus Sports will begin an adult flag football league in Albany this fall.

Raider Shoot Out

The Crescent Valley girls and boys soccer teams will host the 5th Annual CV Raider Shoot Out golf tournament on Sept. 28 at Trysting Tree Golf Course.

The four-player scramble begins at 8:30 a.m.; check-in is at 8. Registration is $65 for adults and $50 for players under 18 years of age.

Lunch and a tee gift is included. All proceeds support the CV soccer teams. For more information, call 740-3504.

AYSO registration

American Youth Soccer Organization Region 149 is holding limited open registration for fall/spring 2008-09 soccer by mail.

Placement on teams is on a first-come, first-served basis. Players with parents who volunteer and attend training to referee will receive priority placement.
