Slow-speed chase ends in crash, arrest

A drunken driver was arrested after a brief, slow-speed chase early Wednesday morning, according to police.

A citizen reported that a drunken driver was leaving Sancho’s Mexican Bar & Grill at 14th Street and Monroe Avenue at 12:10 a.m., according to Corvallis Police Lt. Todd Bailey.

An Oregon State Police trooper from Oregon State University responded and attempted to pull the man over.

The man, whose identity has not yet been released by police, reportedly drove for two to three blocks at around 10 miles per hour with the trooper behind him. He was stopped at Sixth Street and Monroe Avenue when he bumped into a parked cab.

The release of additional information on the crash is expected today.
