During cross-country trip, bike stolen in Eugene

EUGENE (AP) — Melissa Henige and Andy Davis have been cycling cross-country this summer, pedaling west from their home in Indiana toward San Francisco, where they plan to marry.

But when they stopped in Eugene this week for a coffee break, someone stole Henige’s bicycle.

“It was our home for two and a half months, and now we’re like, ‘OK so what do we do now?’ “ says Melissa Henige.

Still, the two say they’ll make it somehow to their wedding in San Francisco.

They’ve been chronicling their journey on a blog, and collecting footage for a documentary on sustainability.

“We feel good about what’s going on in the country and along the route,’’ Davis said. “We just had one person who chose to do something that wasn’t so great.’’

Anyone with information can contact the owners of the bike through their blog: http://www.changinggearsmovie.com/blog.html
