Carol ‘Joy’ Baker

Oct 16, 1929 n Aug. 20, 2008

An incredible woman, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she lived for God and taught us all about His love.  She took one last breath with her daughter by her side and peacefully slipped away with Jesus at 9:42 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20.

She would want us all to remember how she lived and to know she is finally at peace. There is one thing we know for sure, when God asked her if she was ready, she said, “YES!”

She was born in Pasadena, Calif., to Harry and Alma Eastman on Oct. 16, 1929 (a date she never wanted anyone to know). In life she was an artist, author, model, Women’s Bible Study teacher, president of Victor Valley Christian Women’s Club, district manager for Avon, a pastor’s secretary for 20 years, but most of all she was our prayer warrior!

In 1995, she married the Rev. Don Baker, and they both found the love of their lives. She was so remarkable and loving, her family and husband often referred to her as “their Angel unaware.”

She is survived by her husband; children, Deborah Hove, John Lewis, and Richard Lewis; step-children John Baker and Kathy Barram; grandchildren Ashley Smith, Marisa Washburn, Kristin Snyder, Desire Roberts, Justin Odell, Kiel Lewis, Breanna Williams, Melissa Wells, Nicholas Wells, James Baker, Jeffrey Baker, Meredith Diaz, Ashley Barram, Jennifer Barram and Emma Barram; and her five great-grandchildren, Micah Roberts, Brody Roberts, Elizabeth Odell, Addison Snyder and Brooklyn Snyder.

She is also survived by her sister, Mary Brisebois; brothers, Richard Eastman and Jim Berry; and by extended family and friends.

A celebration of life will

be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at her home at 4714 S.W. Birdsong Drive, Corvallis, Oregon. E-mail: baker8390@comcast.net

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association 877-247-2426.

We will never forget you!
