Willard Roscoe ‘Will’ Haley

May 12, 1945 — Aug. 23, 2008

Willard Roscoe “Will” Haley, 63, of Corvallis died Saturday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. Born May 12, 1945, in Caliente, Nev., he was the son of Willard and Florine Haley.

Will served in the Navy during the Vietnam Era. He graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in business administration.

He married Gunnevi Helsing on Nov. 23, 1982, in Corvallis. The couple has four daughters: Deborah, Samantha, Maj-Britt and Shannon. Will was a CPA for 30 years and had his own practice for a number of those years while simultaneously operating a Christmas tree farm. In the past few years, he continued with a small accounting practice as well as started a construction company with a son-in-law.

He enjoyed taking trips with his wife and spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially camping and fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his sense of humor and his willingness to share his wide-range of knowledge with others. If he didn’t know how to do something, he would figure it out.

Preceded in death by his father, Will is survived by his wife of 26 years, Gen; his mother, Florine Mott of Las Vegas; brothers and sisters-in-law Merrill and Pattie Haley, Dale Haley, Rick and Nancy Haley; daughters and sons-in-law Deborah and George Killough, Samantha Haley, Maj-Britt and Matt Avery, Shannon and Wayne Brown; eight grandchildren, Brandi, Cherokee, Madison, Houston, Jorjette, Sophia, Haley and Joseph; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and Gen’s family. He loved them all.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 30, at McHenry Funeral Home in Corvallis. Memorial donations in Will’s name can be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association in care of McHenry Funeral Home 206 N.W. Fifth St., Corvallis, OR 97330.
