Internet joins county GOP group with convention

The next meeting of the Benton County Republican Central Committee will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library in conjunction with an event featuring Republican presidential nominee John McCain.

At 7 p.m., via the Internet, the committee will join the Republican Convention in the Twin Cities to hear McCain accept his party’s nomination and Sarah Palin accept the nomination as his vice presidential candidate. The Benton County committee’s regular business meeting will follow the event.

Guest speakers include Chase Tedrow, Marion County field representative for Victory 2008; Mike Erickson, candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, 5th District; Jim Thompson, candidate for State House Representative District 23; Chris Nusbaum, candidate for Benton County commissioner; and John Detweiler, candidate for City Council Ward 6.
