Oregon State wins twice

PORTLAND - The Oregon State volleyball team picked up wins over Idaho and UC Riverside on Friday at the Portland State Volleyball Showcase.

The Beavers knocked off Idaho in four games, 20-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-21. They opened the tournament with a sweep of Riverside, 25-19, 25-20, 25-23.

Against Idaho, Lexie Rathgeber had six blocks, Rachel Rourke five and Camilla Ah-Hoy and Lauren Rinderknecht both had four to lead the Beavers (7-2).

Rourke paced all hitters with 18 kills, Jill Sawatzky added 14 and Rinderknecht had 10. Defensively, Ashley Evans had a match-high 12 digs.

Against Riverside, Bree Knitter had 10 kills without an error, Rourke had 11 kills, and Sawatzky and Knitter had seven digs each.

OSU concludes the tournament at 10 a.m. today against Portland. The Beavers then host the Zhejiang, China, club team in an exhibition match at 7 p.m. Monday.
