Rourke’s kills spark Beavers

Junior Rachel Rourke had a match-high 24 kills, two aces and two blocks on Monday night to lead the Oregon State volleyball team to a 3-2 exhibition victory over the Zhejiang, China, Kai Yuan team. Game scores were 25-20, 15-25, 20-25, 26-24 and 15-13.

“I thought Rachel did a great job attacking,” coach Terry Liskevych said. “The outside hitters played really well.”

Bree Knitter added six blocks, Jill Sawatzky had 15 kills, four aces and three blocks and Lexie Rathgeber had eight kills and four blocks.

Sawatzky’s four aces were a career-best and she tied her career high with 20.5 points. Betsy Devich had a career-high 10 digs.

The Beavers play at the Marquette Cheese Bowl in Milwaukee this weekend. They face Marquette and Wisconsin on Saturday and Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Sunday.
