Media role in presidential election up for discussion

A political scholar will speak Tuesday on the media portrayal of the two major presidential candidates, and how journalists treat foreign nations in their coverage.

Oregon State University professor of political science Robert Sahr will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library as part of the Willamette Valley Forum series.

Sahr is a “Master Teacher” in the College of Liberal Arts at OSU, which recognizes his excellence in teaching and interaction with students. His many classes include “Presidential Politics,” “Politics and the Media,” “Public Opinion and Politics” and “Tax and Spending Politics and Policy.” A question and answer period will follow his talk.

This presentation is sponsored by the Willamette Valley Forum, along with the political science department at OSU and Linn-Benton Community College’s Institute for Peace and Justice.
