Mark Egan

Dec. 6, 1965 — Oct. 3, 2008

Mark passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family. He was born in Aylesbury, England, where his wonderful sense of humor and taste for adventure led him to many hair-raising escapades at a young age.

He was fearless and curious, taking off to explore the world around him, often to his Nana’s dismay. He always returned safely though, full of laughter and excitement. When he was 8, he moved to the United States with his family, living first in Colorado and then settling in California. Mark graduated from Branham High School in 1983. In school, he discovered his lifelong love of the performing arts.

Following graduation, he began his 20-year-long career with Hewlett-Packard. He loved his job and his co-

workers, always finding a way to make work fun and to brighten others’ days. Mark left his position as a document administrator in 2006 when his illness became too severe.

Mark’s family always played a central role in his life. He was a devoted son, brother and a magnificent uncle. His niece and nephew meant the world to him and he loved them like his own. His wonderful sense of humor and generous spirit will be missed by all he touched.

Mark is survived by his parents Brian B. and Angela Egan of Corvallis; sister Catherine Egan and her partner and David Acton; niece, Emily Shinn; nephew, Liam Shinn; aunt, Gilda Bowman of California; uncle Eugene Perry and his partner Sandra Perry and aunt Pauline Perry all of Aylesbury, United Kingdom, as well as numerous cousins.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the Episcopal Church of the Good Samaritan in Corvallis. Online condolences can be directed to the family via: www.mchenryfuneralhome.com.
