Voters service forums set

The League of Women Voters will hold a series of voters service forums beginning Tuesday and ending Thursday, Oct. 23. The forums will provide information about candidates and ballot measures on the Nov. 4 ballot.

Each of the three forums will begin at 7 p.m. at the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library

The Tuesday forum is entitled, “State Offices and County Commissioners.” Speakers include: State Senate District 12, Brian Boquist, R, and Kevin Nortness, D; State Representative District 15, Dick Olsen, D, and Andy Olson, R; State Representative District 16, Sara Gelser, D; State Representative District 23, Jason Brown, D, and Jim Thompson, R; County Commissioner Position 2, Jay Dixon, D; and County Commissioner Position 3, Annabelle Jaramillo, D, and Chris Nusbaum, R.

The Thursday, Oct. 16, forum is entitled, “Local Bond Measure and City Councilors.” Speakers include: Local Bond Measure, Larry Earhart (pro) and Be Herrara (con); Ward 1, Mark O’Brien and Bill York; Ward 2, Scott Clifford and Patricia Daniels; Ward 3, Richard Hervey; Ward 4, Dan Brown; Ward 5, Mike Beilstein and Rob Gandara; Ward 6, John Detweiler and Joel Hirsch; Ward 7, Jeanne Raymond; Ward 8, David Hamby; and Ward 9, Hal Brauner.

On Thursday, Oct. 23, the League’s Speakers Bureau will provide an overview of the 12 state ballot measures that are up for consideration.
