Holiday pie party — Pumpkin pie and hot cider will be served from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 4515 S.W. West Hills Road, as part of a benefit for the “That’s My Farmer” project promoting local food security which involves nine Corvallis faith communities and 12 local farms. The afternoon also will include a panel discussion on food security, live music and door prizes. A $7 to $25 sliding scale donation is requested at the door. Cuba slide show — Mike Beilstein will show photographs from the 2008 Pastors for Peace aid caravan to Cuba at 7 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 114 S.W. Eighth St. The presentation will include a discussion of the political, economic and cultural life of Cuba today and prospects for the near future. Information: 753-2228.

“Captive Free West Coast” n A free concert featuring Captive Free West Coast will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 2650 N.W. Highland Drive. Captive Free, one of many Christian bands sponsored by Youth Encounter of Minneapolis, Minn., is on a national tour and uses music, skits and puppetry to share the gospel. Information: 753-2816.
“Reflections of Love” — Ron and Kathy Green will perform a concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Corvallis Church of God, 1601 N.E. Conifer Blvd. The couple has spent 17 years performing in churches, camp meetings and revivals and appeared many times in the Lamp music showcase at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Ken., and the Great Western Quartet Convention in Sacramento, Calif. Middle Eastern concert — The Sunnyside Up Café, 116 N.W. Third St., is the site for a benefit concert featuring traditional Palestinian and Jewish music from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 22. The two groups performing are Auda, a group of three Oregon State University students of Middle Eastern heritage, and Ahava Shalom, consisting of flutist and mandolin player Amy Becker and percussionist Dan Gilman. All proceeds from the concert will go to support the work of Joshua Hough with the Christian Peacemakers Team in the South Hebron Hills of the West Bank. The concert is sponsored by Corvallis Alternatives to War, Chapter 132 of Veterans for Peace, and the Troubadour Music Center. Information: newlin@peak.org.
Meditation events
Third Monday Labyrinth Walk — The Episcopal Church of the Good Samaritan, 333 N.W. 35th St., will open its 11-circuit Chartres-style labyrinth to the public between 4 and 8 p.m. Monday. The 20-minute walks, held in a meditative setting, are hosted by experienced walkers. Information: 757-6647.
“Time In” — The Interfaith Community of Corvallis will host an open meditation session from 5:15 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at First United Methodist Church, 1165 N.W. Monroe Ave. (use the 11th Street entrance). A member of the local Friends community will teach a contemplative or devotional practice during the first 15 minutes; 30 minutes of silence will follow to allow participants to experience the meditative technique presented, another form of contemplation or spiritual study. The monthly event is open to people of all faiths.

Presbysterian Women — Dr. David Grube will present a program titled “Humor in Medicine” at the noon meeting Tuesday of the Presbyterian Women at First Presbyterian Church, 114 S.W. Eighth St. The luncheon featuring soup, bread and birthday cake will cost $4. Information: 753-2228.
