UPDATE: This is the second road game to start the season for the Beavers. The home opener is Monday against Yale. … The Beavers lost the season opener at Howard 47-45. Coach Craig Robinson felt the team didn’t run the motion offense as well as expected, but the defense was good. … G/F Seth Tarver had the best game for the Beavers with 10 points. He’s the best all-around player on the team right now, Robinson said. … F Omari Johnson (ankle) missed the game, but is expected back today. … The Beavers are on a 22-game losing streak, dating back to Dec. 19, 2007. … The Beavers won the first four games of the series, and lost the next four. The last meeting was a 75-47 loss Nov. 15, 2006, at OSU. … Nevada is one of the best teams in the Western Athletic Conference, having won at least a share of the last five conference titles. … The Wolf Pack has beaten Montana State and lost to San Diego State. … The top scorers are G Armon Johnson (13.0 ppg), F Joey Shaw (11.5) and F Luke Babbitt (11.5). … “This will be a good test for us,” Robinson said. “We have to get used to winning on the road.”
