Corvallis police are investigating a reported stabbing Nov, 23 at Oregon State University’s Alpha Tau Omega fraternity at 309 N.W. 26th St.

The victim, who was not identified, left a party at the fraternity around 1:40 a.m. and called police from a neighbor’s house. When police arrived, he was bleeding from stab wounds to his torso, said Lt. Dave Henslee, the police department’s public information officer.

Henslee said the victim was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center by Corvallis paramedics. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to fully recover.

Police are just now releasing information about the week-old incident. “I just received the information today,” said Henslee. “The investigation is ongoing and investigators had information that they thought they could release.”

He said 49 people were at the party when police searched the fraternity. Guests were drinking alcohol, and many of them were underage and drunk, he said. Fraternity president Billy D. Judge, 22, was cited for furnishing alcohol to minors.

Police learned there was a fight involving a knife between two of the males at the party, said Henslee. “Both males received injuries, and it is unclear how the incident unfolded leading to the injuries.”

No one has been charged in connection with the fight. The second person involved in the fight received a superficial laceration to his hand, Henslee said. Party guests who probably witnessed the assault have yet to be identified or interviewed.
