People on the move

Rod Aust has joined The Corvallis Clinic as Director of Information Technology Services. He will oversee a staff of approximately 12 employees and be responsible for computer, telephony, electronic records and other health technology information services at all six of the Clinic’s medical facilities.

Training and development

Pynne Luebbert, designer at Corvallis Custom Kitchens and Baths has earned a Certified Kitchen Designer designation. Designers may sit for this exam after completing required education and industry experience hours. The six-hour exam requires a full set of drawing plans to be hand drafted following the guidelines of the National Kitchen and Bath Association and requirements of building codes.

Renewable Energy Associates, LLC has graduated from the Business Enterprise Center small business acceleration program. Ryan Mayfield and Jacob Wood, owners of REA, specialize in solar, wind and micro-hydro projects. Some of their services include providing project feasibility assessments, system design and documentation assistance, independent system performance testing and industry-related training.

Officers and directors

Dr. David Faddis of Corvallis, recently received a three-year appointment as Cancer Center Liaison Physician for the cancer program at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. Cancer Liaison Physicians are responsible for spearheading Commission on Cancer initiatives within their cancer program; collaborating with local agencies, such as the American Cancer Society and facilitating quality improvement initiatives utilizing data submitted to the Commission on Cancer’s National Cancer Database.

News and notes

Zia Southwest Cuisine is now open for dinner. Owners Kathleen Marie, Damian Irwin and Diego Irwin have decided to cut back on breakfast but serve lunch and dinner seven days a week. Zia is now open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch and 5 to 9 p.m. for supper every day. The restaurant is open for breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday through Sunday.

Shauna Wilson of Corvallis recently completed InterneTeaming.com, a book that introduces step-by-step instructions on how to create and cultivate successful virtual teams. Wilson is president of Amazon Consulting, a performance management firm specializing in international standards and remote team building.

A project by Kirk Design and Construction is featured in the current issue of Professional Deck Builder Magazine. The pergola, designed and built by company owners Emma and Joel Kirk, is shown in the Day’s End column, subtitled “Focus on good design and clever construction.”

Bill Mercer, a financial advisor for Edward Jones in Corvallis, has been appointed to the firm’s hiring team. The group assists in hiring new financial advisors.

During the 2008 National Policy Academy in Annapolis, Md., Trillium Family Services’ Young Adult Program supervisor, Matthew Holland, will be joined by a 19-year-old female participant in the program as two of 10 Oregon delegates to the meeting, which is entitled “Developing Systems of Care for Youth and Young Adults with Mental Health Needs Who Are Transitioning to Adulthood, and Their Families.”
