Dana B. Wilt

Feb. 26, 1953 — Dec. 4, 2008

Dana B. Wilt died of cancer at home on Dec. 4, 2008. He was 55 years old. Dana was born in Corvallis on Feb. 26, 1953, to Stanley and Virginia Gehrs Wilt. He grew up in Corvallis and graduated from Corvallis High School. He then attended O.I.T. in Klamath Falls. Later he returned to the Mid-Valley where he owned and operated Coast Crane for nearly 20 years. Dana was a member of the Peoples Church in Salem and the National Hot Rod Association. For those who knew him, he will be remembered as a fun-loving guy always looking for life’s next adventure. He was a pilot, a custom car collector, a drag racer and a Harley-riding guy with a huge heart. He volunteered as a mentor at the Albany YMCA. He also supported the Corvallis Boys & Girls Club and Oregon State University.

He is survived by his wife, Angela; a son, Travis; a daughter, Jennifer; mother, Virginia; a brother, Bill; a sister, Leslie; and grandchildren, Kendall and Owen. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Gary.

A gathering to celebrate Dana’s life will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 14, at the home of Dana and Angela Wilt, 38491 Scravel Hill Road, Albany.
