Tuesday, Dec. 23

TREE THEFT n Reported 8:30 a.m., Alpha Phi, 357 N.W. 25th Street. A live pine or fir tree about 3 feet tall was reported stolen from the sorority’s front yard.

Thursday, Dec. 25

STOLEN MAIL n Reported 10:25 a.m., 4700 block Northwest Jeanice Place. Mail was stolen from several mail boxes in the area and found discarded nearby. Junk mail and bills were left unopened, but Christmas cards were opened.

Friday, Dec. 26

ASSAULT n 6:30 p.m., 200 block Northeast Conifer Place. A 15-year-old girl was cited for fourth-degree assault after scratching a man on the face, neck and arm. Several of the scratches were bleeding when an officer arrived. The girl had cursed at the man and her mother, and the man had responded by trying to put a bar of soap in the girl’s mouth.

SHOPLIFTING n 6:35 p.m., Safeway, 590 N.E. Circle Blvd. An officer reported to a report of a shoplifter in custody. Aaron McKinnon, 20, of Corvallis was cited for theft II after he admitted to stealing $195.36 worth of food.

Tuesday, Dec. 23

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF n Old Alpine Elementary School, now a Queen Bee Honey Co.

facility, 25114 Alpine Road. Steven Drumm, 23, of Alpine was arrested for first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal trespass after he drove his pickup behind buildings on site, spun his tires and made ruts in the grass field. He also hit eight beehives, knocking them over. The bees in the hives died because of the cold weather. Damage was estimated at $3,000.

Friday, Dec. 26

DUII CRASH n 5000 block Northwest Elliott Circle. Frances Andrew Nelson, 57, of Corvallis was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants after rear-ending another vehicle.

Sunday, Dec. 28

DUII n 1:23 a.m., 2200 block Northwest Ninth Street. Daniel Dewitt Cochrane, 36, of Bend, was arrested for DUII, .14 percent blood alcohol content and was stopped for several traffic violations. He also was cited for reckless endangering since there was a passenger in his car.
