Benton County’s first baby of 2009, a girl, was born at 6:43 a.m. Thursday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

The Gazette-Times typically writes a story on the first local child born in the new year. However, the parents of 2009’s first baby requested privacy, hospital staff said.
