Finally getting back on the job this afternoon following a week off for personal reasons (thank you everybody for your nice messages about my sister's passing), I find myself buried in emails and the challenging predicament of putting together a quick plan for the next edition.
I had this crazy idea that I'd make it up to Cascade to watch the Philomath volleyball team in a key conference match, but I just couldn't make it work with the work load.
I have a few stories that I started to work on prior to the week off and had hoped to pick up where I left off, but they involve a lot of time-consuming legwork, so to speak, and have to be delayed another week.
A few of you have written me emails asking about what's going on around town with certain businesses. That's a story that I'm planning to finally finish and publish in the Oct. 25 edition, although it could end up as a series of stories. We have lots going on, including plans for the old CD&J Cafe.
