Oregon State football coach Mike Riley announced that Cody Vaz is the starting QB for Saturday's game against Arizona State.

Vaz takes over for starter Sean Mannion, who has thrown seven INTs in this last two games.

Check out Riley's announcement in the video. Here's the full story in Tuesday's GT. And here player reactions.

"I'm just going to keep taking care of what I can control and work hard every day," Mannion said. "I'm going to support Cody any way I can. I told him I'm going to support him 100 percent. It's a disappointment, obviously, but I'm going to continue to work hard and become a better player."

"We are both supporting each other," Vaz said. "We are in it together. No matter who is playing we'll help each other out. Whatever it takes to win. We both want to win."

"Everybody knows Cody is a good player and Sean is a good player," C Isaac Seumalo said. "We trust the coaches decision. We just have to do our jobs."

Good luck Cody! Go Beavers!

Choosing to remain positive this year, like most of our Beavs, I still see great potential in this season. I support the move to Vaz unless Mannion shows complete superiority in practice and then in a game. Cummings and Mullaney earned higher spots on the depth chart. I am in no way conceding games to any future opponent this year.

C'mon, Beavs. Out-work and out-perform your competition so good things will be the result.
