Former Oregon State receiver Markus Wheaton created a little buzz among NFL draft analysts Sunday at the combine.
Those talking during the NFL Network broadcast said they like his ability, personality and work ethic.
Even the NFL.com writers like him. Wheaton grades out well and improved his stock dramatically.
Wheaton ran an impressive 4.45-second 40-yard dash, 10th best among receivers.
He also put up 20 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, the best number for players at his position.
His 20-yard shuttle was 4.02 seconds and 60-yard shuttle was 11.16 seconds. Both were the best marks for receivers.
Wheaton's vertical jump was 37 inches, broad jump 120 inches and 3-cone drill 6.8 seconds.
Before the combine, I thought he could get lost in a group of several good receivers. He has shown that his athletic ability is at the top end of the group, he had great production at OSU and he has a personality people like.
Up next is cornerback Jordan Poyer, who works out Tuesday. Here's his NFL.com write-up.
