RJ Lee was recently upgraded to captain by Northwest Airlines/
Mesaba. At age 23, he is the youngest legal age for appointment to captain by major United States airlines. His assignments include international and domestic routes. Lee was hired with Northwest Airlines in 2007 after receiving a Bachelor of Science in aeronautics from John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences and the University of North Dakota and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Dakota.
Lee is a 2003 graduate of Crescent Valley High School and the son of Dr. Marianne Clausing-Lee and Dr. Kevin Lee.
Tara T. Jones has joined the Heartland Humane Society staff as their new development assistant. Tara began her nonprofit fundraising career in Salem after graduating from Western Oregon University in 2006. She is the proud mother of a Pug named Gracie Annabelle and two large cats named Sir Reginald and Sir Wilbur.

C.A. Rath, the physical education specialist at Philomath Elementary School, was chosen as the 2009 Al Neet Educator of the Year at a ceremony May 11 at Philomath Middle School.
Rath was recognized for his hard work, dedication to the students of the Philomath School District, ability to make learning fun and meaningful and his caring attitude.
The award is named for the late Al Neet, a former superintendent with the district. The Philomath Education Association sponsors the event.
Julie Jeseritz, an aspiring designer, is interning at Corvallis Custom Kitchens and Baths. Jeseritz will graduate with a housing studies degree from Oregon State University this fall, and has recently been awarded the Design and Human Environment Scholar honor for outstanding academic performance in her field.
