People on the Move
Bettina Schempf was promoted to executive director of Benton Habitat for Humanity on July 28. She was previously the finance manager. Schempft has more than 20 years experience working for not-for-profit and for-profit organizations in financial and senior management roles and recently completed her MBA with honors at Oregon State University.

Christopher D. Bell, PA-C, recently joined in The Corvallis Clinic's gastroenterology department. Bell previously worked as a physician assistant at Southeast Idaho Gastroenterology in Pocatello, Idaho. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Allen Westbrook has joined RE/MAX Integrity as a broker at its Albany location.

Megan Hussey has joined the Benton County Sheriff's Office as a full-time corrections deputy. She is scheduled to attend the Corrections Academy later this year.

Mark Berger recently joined Corvallis Montessori School as the new head of school. He has more than two decades of experience as a teacher and administrator, having previously headed schools in Canada and North Carolina.

Danny Aynes of Corvallis has been named the new director of Enrollment Services and registrar at Linn-Benton Community College. Aynes most recently served as director of admission at Eastern Oregon University. He also served as director of career services at EOU, director of student union and student activities at EOU, associate director of admissions for outreach and transfer services at Southern Oregon University, and as an academic adviser at Columbia Gorge Community College.

Kristina Ender of Corvallis recently earned Peak PilateSystem Level I Certification. This certification qualifies her to provide instruction on the mat, reformer and Cadillac.

The Corvallis Clinic's Dr. Referral Line promotion has received a 2008 Aster Award for Excellence in Medical Marketing. The Clinic was recognized as a "Gold Winner" in the Physician Referral Series category for nonhospital Medical Practices. The Dr. Referral Line was established in 2007 to streamline the process for referring patients to The Corvallis Clinic.

Corvallis based PEAK Internet recently announced that it has acquired the dial-up and DSL Internet access customers of Action Networks and Newport Internet, both of Newport.
Newport Internet will continue to operate its domain, e-mail, Web hosting, content management/database Web site business and wireless Internet access. Action Networks will continue to be a provider of networking solutions for the local business community and will retain its domain, e-mail and Web hosting services, and Internet access through wireless and fiber optic connections.
