Financial Stewardship Resources Inc. in Philomath recently elected a new member to its board of directors for 2009-2010. John Frohnmayer is joining the FSR board, and brings experience with nonprofit agencies to this role. He was previously chair of the National Endowment of the Arts, and has been on numerous nonprofit boards through the years. FSR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that educates and empowers nonprofit board members throughout Oregon in sound financial, administrative and organizational stewardship. The next presentation of FSR's

nonprofit organization board training in Corvallis is scheduled for Jan. 23. The agenda includes 24 practical workshops, and is available at www.financial

People on the move

The Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis has made some changes to its staff. Eric Skinner has joined the BGCC as the new resource development director. Skinner is a retired Hewlett-Packard executive who has also worked with several nonprofit agencies. He has many years of marketing experience, and will lead fundraising activities for the club. He can be reached at 757-1909, Ext. 202. Tracy Elmshaeuser has recently moved into a new position at the BGCC as its grant writer. Elmshaeuser has several years of grant writing experience. Samaritan Health Services recently opened Samaritan Rheumatology in Corvallis. It is staffed by Dr. Michelle Ryan, who is accepting new patients. Samaritan Rheumatology specializes in diagnosing and treating arthritis, auto-immune diseases, and inflammatory diseases in the joints, muscles and soft tissues. Ryan earned a bachelor's degree in ecology and evolutionary biology at Princeton University in New Jersey, and a medical degree at the University of California, Davis. She completed an internship at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Mass., and residency training at the University of San Francisco Medical Center. She completed fellowship training in rheumatology at New York University. She is board eligible in rheumatology. Samaritan Rheumatology is at 990 N.W. Circle Blvd., Suite 101. Training & development

After completing two years of supervised clinical training at the Pastoral Counseling Center, the Rev. Charles Helsabeck recently earned the credential of Certified Pastoral Counselor from the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. From clinical offices in Albany, Corvallis and Lebanon, he continues to serve the mission of the PCC, providing individual, couple and family counseling to clients according to their needs for care, rather than their means to pay.
