Officers and directors
New officers were recently named in the Kiwanis Club of Corvallis. They are: John Dion, president; Peggy Obrist, president-elect; Bob Stebbins, vice-president; John Block, treasurer; Betty Brose, secretary; Mickey Bernhardt, recording secretary; and Al Hall, past president.
Dr. Vern Saboe, an Albany chiropractor, has been appointed Oregon's delegate to the American Chiropractic Association's House of Delegates. As Oregon's delegate, Dr. Saboe will represent Oregon chiropractors at the federal level. Locally, Dr. Saboe is working with the Portland VA and Gov. Kulongoski's Veterans Services Task Force in hopes of getting the word out to veterans that they may be eligible to receive chiropractic care.
Comings and goings
Earl Jorgensen, a real estate professional in Corvallis, recently joined Keller Williams Mid-Willamette Market Center. Jorgensen has a background in floorcovering and is a graduate of the Oregon Realtor Institute.
Linn Decker has joined the real estate sales team at Windermere/Willamette Valley, Albany. Decker has been working in realestate for more than four years. Prior to real estate, he worked as a journeyman electrician.
Beth Crawford recently joined The Reynolds Law Firm, PC, as an associate attorney. Crawford graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2008. She also holds degrees from Wake Forest University and Princeton Theological Seminary. She focuses her practice in the areas of family law, victim's rights and children's issues.
Dr. Ihab Wahba recently joined Samaritan Kidney Specialists in Corvallis and is accepting new nephrology patients.
Dr. Wahba received undergraduate and medical education in Cairo, Egypt. He completed an internship and residency training in internal medicine at Harbor Hospital Center in Maryland, where he also served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in nephrology at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.
Dr. Wahba joins Samaritan from Portland, where he served as the medical director of the Hollywood Kidney Center and co-director of the Peritoneal Dialysis Program at OHSU. In addition to his practice, Dr. Wahba has taught at OHSU as an assistant professor of medicine since 2001. He is also a certified clinical hypertension specialist.
Training and development
Steve Amsberry, DVM, of West Hills Animal Hospital recently completed the second of four modules of the Veterinary Family Practice Credential Course at the Veterinary School at UC Davis. The module's focus was entirely on communication skill development with the ultimate goal to improve patient care. Subjects included learning and communication styles of adults, emotional intelligence, and the role of the family practitioner in the community.
Ingeborg Kolar, aesthetician and licensed skin care professional, recently qualified for the national accreditation by the National Coalition of Estheticians, an organization promoting professional standards in the beauty industry. Also, Ingeborg recently qualified to add chemical peels to her menu of services.
